# nikuniku.ai — Our story

## Why nikuniku?

Niku is Japanese for meat. Put two together and you get nikuniku, a playful name we call “肉肉” in Chinese. It points to what we care about: people, bodies and the ways we interact.

### Movement that feels natural.

What happens when two people move closer, turn or touch? Those are the details we want to get right. Our model research focuses on human proportions, anatomy, skin texture and movement between people, with the aim of reducing the small visual errors that break the scene.

### The mouth, the voice and the breath.

Speaking, a soft moan, an open mouth or an exhale each involves different movements. We study how mouth movements match sound, and how breathing, expression and the body work together, to give characters more nuanced performances.

### Less setup. More time to create.

We believe AI should work for people. You describe what you want to make; the tool should help with repetitive, fiddly steps so you can focus on the story, characters and shots. That is the direction behind our automation work.

### Work with the tools you already use.

If AI is already part of how you build or create, connecting to us should fit that workflow. We are planning API, CLI, MCP and Skills access so your tools can understand the interface and connect tasks, with less copying between apps.

### You choose what to express.

We stand for lawful creation without content censorship. Our preferences in subject matter or taste should not decide what you make. We trust creators to respect consent and the rights of others, follow the laws where they use the tool and take responsibility for their work.

We want to make it easier to create the scene you have in mind.
